In addition to our
regular meetings, CATS also organises trips and social events throughout the
year.

Recent social events
have included evenings out to local restaurants. In the past we have made trips
to the Continent sometimes just for the evening. Visits to Bletchley Park to see
the war time radio exhibits and associated equipment including the Enigma
machine. A more recent trip to Cornwall included a visit to the Poldhu club on
the site of the original Marconi experimental transmitter site. Some pictures
are shown here from these trips : -

underground we were able to operate a spark gap transmitter at this location
with no risk of actually getting out!
