CATS SOCIAL EVENTS

In addition to our regular meetings, CATS also organises trips and social events throughout the year.

Social events have included evenings out to local restaurants and trips to the Continent  - sometimes just for the evening. We have visited Bletchley Park to see the war time radio exhibits and associated equipment including the Enigma machine and made a trip to Cornwall to the Poldhu club on the site of the original Marconi experimental transmitter site. British Vintage Wireless Museum Visit

Poldhu Cornwall Marconi Trip

  • A demonstration of early Wireless Equipment at the STC Museum near Poldhu. As the Museum was underground we were able to operate a spark gap transmitter at this location with no risk of actually getting out!
